Let It Snow!
Yesterday our family on the East Coast reported two feet of snow.
Oh-h-h, was I jealous! I told my husband, "I don't need a lot of snow. Just one good covering of the stuff every year."
He suggested I'd have to move up north for that to happen.
So imagine my delight when we awoke this morning to find an inch of snow on the ground and saw big, fluffy flakes still falling. Apparently, the snowy mix predicted for this afternoon turned into a solid snowfall about 4 this morning.
Imagine our daughter's groaning when she learned she had to go to school anyway. She yelled, "Mesquite sucks!" We couldn't believe it. I sent her off with a hot breakfast bundled up in my black wool coat that she loves. (Of course I admonished her to keep it off the floor when she's in class!) What else could I do to console her? That covering beckoned her to build a snowman and engage in a snowball fight, and they expect her to think about math?
Here's a shot of the snowy stuff looking down from the upstairs window onto the pergola and the crepe myrtle. I had a cup of coffee and made some muffins. Ah-h-h!
