Coffee Cup Series by Sandra Glahn
As a young mom carrying a diaper bag and trying to squeeze Bible study time into doctors’ office waiting rooms or walking on the treadmill, I needed more transportable resources. Rather than carrying a Bible, a commentary, and a workbook, I needed a fit-in-my-purse option that let me to have it all. Also, as someone who loves art, beauty, education, and travel, I disliked fill-in-the-blank studies that asked obvious questions. I desired a resource that drew on both sides of my brain while challenging me with cultural and linguistic insights. When I didn’t find what I was looking for, I created my own.
Because time is precious, the titles in the Coffee Cup Bible Studies are designed to be read during coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or even Topo Chico breaks that allow for meditation and study. Scripture is provided from the NET Bible (New English Translation)* and commentary is included, making it convenient to learn while sitting in a doctor's office, waiting in a school pick-up line, or eating a microwaved ravioli at the office.
Observe, interpret, and apply Scripture aided by background information, historical context details, and even sidebars about art, film, or music that complement the biblical text. Why not gather some friends in person or online to explore the Word together?
