Modern Art and the Search for Meaning
When I was in Baltimore at ETS in November, I attended a lecture by Dr. Steve Halla about Edvard Munch’s woodcut "Prayer of an Old Man." Halla got me thinking about Munch (best known for “The Scream”) and the artist's wrestlings with the faith of his father. So I was pleased to see this video featuring art historian Dan Siedell, brought to my attention by colleague Shannon Reibenstein, in which a scholar helps Christ-followers understand modern art, which often addresses the search for meaning.
